Altus looks to local shoppers
ALTUS, Okla. — The Altus/Southwest Area Economic Development Corporation is partnering with local businesses and groups to launch the Altus Approved shop local program this summer, NewsOK reports.
Businesses that participate will receive promotional items and cross promotion through the Altus Chamber of Commerce at no cost to the business.
Customers will be encouraged to spend their dollars in Altus this summer, helping boost the local economy. Local shoppers also will have access to special “Altus Approved” discounts and offers from participating businesses.
The momentum gained from the summer Altus Approved program will be garnered and used for future campaigns during the holiday shopping months. Since Altus Approved encourages shopping local, it also will provide incentives for local gifts as opposed to buying online.
The Mission and Purpose of Altus/Southwest Area Economic Development Corp. is to promote the economic growth of Altus/Jackson County and Southwest Oklahoma, to provide gainful employment for the citizens of this area and to assist in such relocation by offering information, technical assistance and support, either financial or otherwise and to offer continuous help and support to existing businesses.
